HISTORY

The Durga Puja started in the year 1945. They arranged the Puja as traditional Durga Puja. From the year 2007, they have started the theme Puja. Their approximate budget is 5 lakhs. This year they celebrate their 67th year of Durga Puja festival. Every year they organize huge amount of ‘Bhog’ in Ashtami and that serves among members and others, as well. They do not create any pressure for the subscription. The committee also arranges cultural activities through-out the year.

2011	Theme : Ranger Khela Poter Mela
	In theme contains variety of colour and art of the Hindu mythology.

2010	Theme : Shyamali & Nataraj
	The pandal decoration was made with various quotations of ‘Shyamali’ by Rabindra Nath Tagor. The pratima has a traditional look and in ‘Nataraj’ style.

	The pandal was look like a pagoda. The whole environment of the pandal was created alike Nepal and deity was created the by theme.

2006	Theme : Anyo Jagat, (A New World)
	Devi Durga here destroying the evil power and a sign of good power reflects here in the form of dragons, and after that a new sunlight comes as a golden morning with this golden pagoda which forms a (New World). A pagoda is created by Artist Mr. Rik Bhattacharya of 54 feet height with a total of 32 Prominent Dragons covering the whole pagoda with two parallel roofs. Two dragons also covering the back of the godess, It takes 84 days to complete the theme and an excellent artwork can be seen here.
