| Inspired by the ideology of the freedom movement, HOWRAH SEVA SANGHA was organized and established by the some bold hearted young “SWADESHI” in the year 1923 to inculcate and inoculate patriotism among young men and women. Durga Puja, the oldest Sarbojonin Puja started in the year 1927. Since the organization was banned by the British Govt. Durgapuja could not be organized in the years 1942-1944.
Discarding the present trend of gorgeous decorations and experiments with the shape and form of image, the organization has been able to stick to its old values and cultural heritage, worships the same form of traditional earthen image. Club members themselves decorate the Puja compound.
Durga Puja of our organization has earned not only popularity but been accepted as a dignified one. The main attraction of this Puja is the ARATI during NAVAMI. The total duration of ARATI is of 2 hours.
