2010 Theme : DHOBA PARA
This year they tried their hands in a very much innovative theme called “dhoba para”. They tried to give a virtual scene of how dhoba para really looks like. They built water chambers and hired a professional dhobi to guide them through. The narrow water channels which are the essentiasl characteristic of dhobi para gave the theme a realistic look.

2009 Theme : POROBARI
The pandal was built according to the model of ajanta and ellora. The Ajanta Caves Maharashtra, India are 29 rock-cut cave monuments which date from the 2nd century BC. The caves include paintings and sculptures considered to be masterpieces of both Buddhist religious art (which depict the Jataka tales) as well as frescos which are reminiscent of the Sigiriya paintings in Sri Lanka. The caves were built in two phases starting around 200 BC, with the second group of caves built around 600 BC. The pandal was built with plaster of paris and they also applied cement where necessary. The paintings on the walls of the pandal were done using cowdung, plaster of paris and colour. They tried to bring the essence of “frestoes” which was there in earlier days.
